Guy VOYER, DO is a “classically-trained” European Osteopath, as well as an orthopedic medical doctor who remains true to his manual medicine training. He holds a Doctorate in Osteopathy with an extensive background in the fields of sport, manual therapy, and medicine, which includes studies and degrees in physical education, physiotherapy, sports medicine, traumatology, biomechanics, and various forms of bodywork including massage therapy. In addition, he has a PhD. in educational science. He has initiated and collaborated on numerous research projects, including the studies on intervertebral disc compression and herniation. During his study, Dr. Voyer had done extensive research in dissection and was one of the first to map the fascial chains of the body and the role they play in human movement.
Throughout his clinical experience Guy Voyer, DO became familiar with the prominence of back pain -- what he appropriately dubbed “the pain of the world”. He began to grow an obsession with identifying the cause of back pain and a method of treating it accordingly. It was this growing obsession for a “magic bullet” to end back pain that was the genesis of the ELDOA; and after more than three decades of study and clinical practice Guy Voyer, DO developed and honed the ELDOA™: a method of exercise and teaching movement to normalize the tensions throughout the body and spine using the myofascial chains.
